Memory is a field meeting times, refers to past and future; appropriates memory is recovered, is renewed in the present. The problem we face is that it is a past event, the Holocaust, which is an unprecedented genocide broke the story of the twentieth century.
This was stated by Judit Bokser Liwerant, professor at the Autonomous Metropolitan University, to participate in the table memory and hope, held under the International Day in Memory of the Victims of the Holocaust in the Library of Mexico, adding that it is a process with dyes to convey, to recreate, because ultimately «we’re asking is to remember something not met, this is the theme of cultural memory».
In the discussion forum, organized by the National Council for Culture and Arts, through the Library of Mexico from the Directorate General of Libraries, in collaboration with the National Autonomous University of Mexico -facultades of Political and Social Sciences, and of Law- El Colegio de Mexico and the National Council to Prevent Discrimination, the researcher found that there is an event that has meaning to recognize the identity, otherness, on the historical Jewish immigration and the inability of companies and cultures reconciled with that.
«Remember the singularity, uniqueness, specificity of the event, while you can discover its universal implications for the human condition; will learn what we learn, «he said during the meeting moderated by César Benedict, and held in the Multipurpose Forum Antonieta Rivas Mercado Mexico Library.
Judit Bokser Liwerant, professor at the UAM, said memory means and hope for recovering side and reappropriate the past and challenges have alleged opposition between understanding memory as a unique twist to the past that would contrast with the possibility of favoring or look the future that characterizes us men of modernity.
Facing the pain and the challenge was the experience of the Holocaust, memory became a source of contention, the draft annihilate the group and not a trace also forced to be a commitment to memory and the scribes, said the member Researchers and author of 14 books National System.
Meanwhile, the rabbi and historian Efraim Zadoff considered that the Holocaust was based purely ideological, general characteristic of anti-Semitism in the present; see all Jews with a uniformity without differences.
No doubt that there is nothing new, nothing special; Opposition to Zionism as an expression of cultural or national aspirations within the Jewish people there from the very beginning in Europe and then in the Americas in conceptions that called for a Jewish national autonomy or independence, he said the doctor from the University of Tel Aviv .
In turn, the playwright and essayist Hugo Hiriart launched two questions about the Holocaust and said: Was it predictable ?, to which he added emphatically: No, «because it was difficult and impossible that such a thing could happen.»
For writer and member of the National System of Creators the worst offender of the twentieth century is undoubtedly the obedient bureaucrat, «were the ones who did the massacres of the Nazis and the killings and horrible things in Russia».
Note that previously made comparisons between the Holocaust and the massacre in Tamaulipas San Fernando -masacre of between 22 and 23 August 2010 and allegedly called «Zetas» executed 72 Central American migrants.
Finally, the CIDE researcher and analyst and host of Spiral Channel 11 program, Ricardo Raphael, recalled his Turkish, French and Mexican roots, and witnessed the near oblivion Holocaust was considered.
My generation, between it my cousins, we had to go digging carefully buried fragments of family history, hidden. Recalling his grandparents, he said that somewhere is wrong to believe that the pain would be hidden by forgetfulness; «Absolutely false because the pain continues, but always accompanied by the same matter that constitutes treason, said Ricardo Raphael.
«The very identity is lived with a kind of double shame for having been dislocated while not being. By the end discrimination for being Jewish and at the same time not be, «he reflected.
The professor and columnist for El Universal said that since this testimony forgetfulness is that the Holocaust can and must be revised, because clearly awareness of the genocide and the Holocaust became a watershed in the history of mankind, because we allow name tragedy and provide it, really philosophical, legal truth, truth sometimes literary, moral, economic, scientific, truth and this has allowed us to address the systematic acts of violence propinamos us humans.
It then becomes possible to live with dignity this without being forced to deny the past, deny yourself, to be lived heartless; then becomes possible to see clearly the future, said Ricardo Raphael, declaring detractor of closed cases, the unique historical truths without the right to reinterpretation.
