Con el apoyo del Consejo Nacional para la Cultura y las Artes (Conaculta), así como del Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes (INBA), el Festival del Centro Histórico de México ofrecerá más 500 eventos entre el 25 de marzo y el 12 de abril, fechas de Pascua y Semana Santa, a fin de que los capitalinos y turistas disfruten de espectáculos culturales de primer nivel.
A nombre del presidente del Consejo Nacional para la Cultura y las Artes, Rafael Tovar y de Teresa, el director general de Asuntos Internacionales, José Luis Martínez, afirmó que el Conaculta brindará no sólo espacios del INBA, sino del propio Consejo para estar presentes en este festival que “desde sus inicios hemos apoyado, también desde el punto de vista presupuestario”.
Además, ratificó su simpatía y apoyo al presidente del Patronato, Fernando Estrada, así como a todos los colaboradores del festival.
En la conferencia de prensa para dar a conocer las actividades de este encuentro, se informó que durante 19 días la Ciudad de México contará con 10 recintos del Centro Histórico para albergar a 200 artistas nacionales y extranjeros en rubros como danza, teatro y música, principalmente.
Sergio Ramírez Cárdenas, subdirector general del INBA, informó que el 25 de marzo, a las 20:00, la Orquesta Sinfónica Nacional dará un concierto en el Palacio de Bellas Artes, evento con el cual se inaugurará el Festival del Centro Histórico.
A nombre de la titular del INBA, María Cristina García Cepeda, indicó que el 29 de marzo se llevará a cabo la ópera Don Giovanni, donde participarán Erika Grimaldi, Olivia Gorra y Ramón Vargas, a las 17:00 horas, también en el coloso de mármol.
Al presentar la programación de los 19 días del encuentro, el presidente del Patronato del FCHM, Fernando Estrada comentó que artistas de Cuba, España, Estados Unidos, Francia, Israel, Lituania, Mali, Quebec, Palestina y Turquía, entre otros, formarán parte del elenco artístico cultural con el apoyo del Conaculta, el Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes, de la Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México y El Colegio de México, principalmente.
Explicó que con estas actividades culturales, el festival ocupará espacios que durante la Semana Santa y la de Pascua, generalmente se encuentran vacíos, por lo que ahora contarán con una mejor opción artístico-cultural, donde se prevé la asistencia de cientos de miles de personas.
En la lista de participantes destacan el violinista israelí Shlomo Mintz, el jazzista Julian Joseph, la agrupación musical Afro-Cuba de Matanzas, las orquestas sinfónicas Nacional y la de Minería; la Compañía Nacional de Ópera, así como Ramón Vargas, Eugenia León y Regina Orozco, entre otros.
Asimismo, en el 31 Festival Centro Histórico de México estarán la agrupación Teatro de Ciertos Habitantes y la Compañía Nacional de Teatro; la lituana Meno Fortas que pondrá en escena La divina comedia –Infierno y Purgatorio. En danza sobresalen la Compañía Francesa de Danza L’Éventail y Les Ballets Jazz de Montreal, entre otras agrupaciones.
Cabe señalar que los recintos podrán apreciarse en el Palacio de Bellas Artes, Teatro de la Ciudad, Laboratorio de Arte Alameda, Anfiteatro Simón Bolívar, Escuela de Medicina, Iglesia de Santo Domingo, Museo de la Ciudad, Colegio Nacional y plazas públicas.
