The International Fair of the Yucatán Reading will take place from 7 to 15 March in the Yucatán Siglo XXI Convention Centre and Grand Mayan World Museum in Mérida, where attendance of over 100,000 visitors are expected, among them 15,000 children who enjoy more than 104 academic, artistic performances 100, 100 book presentations.
Also, the fair will offer national meetings of Cultural Journalism, Promoters of Reading, Gastronomic between Yucatan and Mexico City and the Latin American Booksellers; the Second National Film Encounter, the Bikeway Filmed Reading and 90 km, Workshop Promotion of Reading and Language Book.; will feature the participation of 200 exhibitors.
Among the academic institutions highlights the participation of the Chair Hugo Gutierrez Vega, attended the National Prize for Arts and Sciences in Linguistics and Literature, poet, teacher and diplomat Hugo Gutierrez Vega in Maya Poetry Gathering in who will talk in Maya with a poet of that culture.
Within the International Reading Fair Yucatán conferences will take place, tables panel, a discussion forum, reading and creative writing workshops, among others.
The National Council for Culture and Arts will attend workshops that will Tierra Adentro, besides presenting several books of recent catalog of the Directorate General Publications, said the CEO of Filey, Rafael Lopez Morcillo.
The CEO of the meeting highlighted the willingness of cultural bodies and said that each year the Conaculta supports publishers with 700 booksellers, which guard since the sent from Mexico City and arrive in Merida, home of meeting readers and writers, paying all expenses, until his return to the capital.
