Morelia, Michoacán.- En el marco de la conmemoración del Día Mundial del Turismo, el Presidente de la República, Felipe Calderón, y la secretaria del ramo Gloria Guevara Manzo, reconocieron el trabajo de la administración del Gobernador Rafael Moreno Valle por impulsar el desarrollo de la industria turística poblana, como elemento de desarrollo social y económico. 
Moreno Valle participó en la reunión del Consejo Consultivo Nacional de Turismo y Sesión Ordinaria de Seguimiento del Acuerdo Nacional por el Turismo, que se realizó en la Casa de Gobierno de Michoacán.
El Titular del Ejecutivo estatal resaltó las acciones de su gestión por fortalecer este sector basado en los atractivos históricos, culturales y gastronómicos de Puebla.
Resaltó la designación de Pahuatlán y Zacatlán, el mejoramiento de centros históricos, el Corredor Turísticos Los Fuertes-Catedral, los magnos festejos del sesquicentenario de la Batalla del 5 de Mayo y las fiestas patrias que han permitido posicionar al estado como un referente turístico.
Mencionó que en su primer año de gobierno se registró un incremento de 16 por ciento en el número de visitantes y, durante el primer semestre del presente año, un crecimiento del 15 por ciento.
En paralelo, subrayó que Puebla se prepara para la realización del Tianguis Turístico 2013 que, por primera ocasión, se realizará en un destino que no es de sol ni playa.
Este evento, ponderó, colocará a Puebla en el centro de atención de los mayoristas y tour operadores internacionales, lo que se reflejará en un incremento de los paseantes internacionales que arriban a su territorio.
El Gobernador Moreno Valle dialogó con el Ejecutivo Federal, la secretaria Guevara Manzo y sus homólogos de Michoacán, Tlaxcala, Hidalgo y Morelos, además de tour operadores, prestadores de servicios y rectores de instituciones educativas participantes en el encuentro.
En la reunión, Moreno Valle presentó un video en el que invita a conocer Puebla y las obras que se realizan para recibir el Tianguis Turístico.
El Presidente Felipe Calderón Hinojosa, agradeció al Ejecutivo poblano el esfuerzo realizado en su administración en la industria turística que contribuirá a que en 2020, México sea la quinta potencia a nivel mundial en materia turística.
