The Health Committee of the LIX Legislature unanimously approved exhort the 217 municipalities of the state, to reinforce health surveillance in the municipal slaughterhouses, and invest in the creation of units of sacrifice, in order to ensure the health of Puebla.
The President of the Commission, Jorge Aguilar Chedraui said it is important that municipalities take responsibility, since it has been detected low investment in traces of the entity and deficiencies in the sanitary control.
The members of the Commission, Maiella Gomez Maldonado, Corona Salazar Alvarez, Evelia Rodríguez García, José Chedraui Budib, Salvador Escobedo Natale Zoletto and Juan Carlos López, pledged to work on legislation to analyze and adapt existing health standard in the state.
At the meeting, the director of Protection Against Health Risks of the Ministry of Health, María Laura García Beltrán, acknowledged that even if the entity recorded significant progress in this area, further efforts are needed in health surveillance in traces and slaughterhouses.
Proposed schemes improve the facilities, equipment municipal slaughterhouses, intersectoral coordination with the agencies whose functions are related to the public service of municipal slaughterhouses, strengthen the training and sensitization of stakeholders in health surveillance.
Moreover, the legislators unanimously approved the Work Plan of the Committee on Health, which includes, besides the parliamentary actions, outreach activities with citizens, days of broadcast services and actions.
