The Confederation of Industrial Chambers of the United Mexican contribute their views and ideas to the Federal Competition Commission (COFECE) to be taken into account in the preparation of a guide information management, which will delimit the guidelines for Chambers and Associations not incur any monopolistic acts, said Francisco J. Funtanet Mange, President of CONCAMIN.
«We will seek to disseminate this document to June this year, hoping that this guide will help generate certainty and peace of mind to our members when disseminating information to their sectors,» the leader of the industry.
Alejandro Faya Rodríguez, Head of Planning Unit, Liaison and International Affairs COFECE stressed that Chambers and Associations themselves are «economic entities» and therefore may be punished if comment anticompetitive practices.
Some of these practices include: the exchange of information between competitors which have as their object or effect the fixing of prices, markets or positions arranged in public tenders. Examples include making recommendations on prices, terms of trade, quantities traded or markets served, including agreements between Member States on these matters, exchange price lists or information on transactions of partners, among others.
During a meeting held at the premises of CONCAMIN between officials COFECE and affiliated to the Confederation members, Juan Pablo Garcia Garza, President of the Commission of Legislative Liaison CONCAMIN, announced that it will hold a gathering information and specific cases within each of the industrial sectors, in order to be able to form a complete, efficient and beneficial to all proposal.
In conclusion, Chambers and Associations requested during the making of this guide envisaged and respect their authority as advisory in accordance with the Law of Chambers and its Confederations.
