Hong Kong / Geneva. – Infiniti today announced the first complete picture of the QX30 concept, which will have its world premiere at the International Geneva Motor Show 2015. The crossover concept aims to design future premium compact car, confirming the commitment of the brand for this segment.
Reaching the limits of design, the QX30 concept combines the sleek lines of a coupe with distinctive features and high position of a crossover. Ready for action, the QX30 model promises to deliver power with style.
«We wanted the spontaneous flow QX30 concept design flow past the clutter and citadina stiffness, reflecting its nature to go anywhere enjoying the moment,» said Alfonso Albaisa, executive director of design for Infiniti.
«The QX30 concept has been designed so that the occupants feel safe and protected inside, and can drive in or out of the city without complications.»
The theme of «stylish protection» is evident from the front to the rear. The designers have given the concept a pronounced QX30 aluminum bumper at the front, while the rounded rear fascia has a sculpted hard nuanced graphics.
The soft outer shape of the QX30 concept consists of bold sections, deep grooves and contours intertwined to create the effect of «double wave», characteristic of Infiniti. The aerodynamic design emphasizes its sporty silhouette, showing their capabilities. The carbon fiber supports lower cladding and roof bar gives the vehicle an agile performance.
The 21-inch wheels and wider tires are critical to the firm stance of the crossover. The radios are a unique blend of three-dimensional aluminum finished in different shades, crossing a distinctive way.
Even the roof rails have gone beyond their functional use. Extending from the center line, along with the glass ceiling, provide rear passengers with a «sculpture» where to look, resulting in an unusual perspective from the outside world.
«The QX30 design concept conveys a sophisticated sense of strength and durability, where strong does not mean rude. We have retained a sense of aesthetics even in the most functional parts» Albaisa said.
The QX30 concept will be officially launched on March 3 during Infiniti press conference at the International Geneva Motor Show 2015 from 14: 15hrs (local time).
