San Andrés Cholula, Puebla.- Jehiel Sarahí Reyes Castillo y Fernanda Romero García, son dos alumnas de la Licenciatura en Imagen y Relaciones Públicas de la UMAD, que recientemente regresaron de Estados Unidos tras realizar un intercambio académico en la Universidad Martin Methodist College ubicada en Tennessee.
“Al principio yo solo pensaba hacer mis prácticas porque ya estaba por terminar mi carrera pero aún me faltaba cursar una materia, entonces cuando se me presentó la oportunidad de ir a esta universidad donde podía realizar prácticas profesionales y cursar la materia que me faltaba, no lo pensé dos veces”. Señala Sarahí Reyes.
Respecto a su experiencia como practicante, la estudiante comenta que estuvo en los departamentos de Mercadotecnia y de Intercambios Internacionales de dicha universidad.
“En el departamento de Mercadotecnia hacía videos, tomaba fotos, entrevistaba a personas y apoyaba en el manejo de redes sociales. En el área de Intercambios Internacionales básicamente la tarea era dar a conocer los programas y lograr que los estudiantes se interesaran por hacer viajes académicos”.
Por su parte, Fernanda Romero García quien actualmente cursa el sexto semestre de la licenciatura, relata que fueron tres materias las que tomó en Martin Methodist College: Actuación, Plan de Negocios y Mercadotecnia; además de dos clases de Inglés para mejorar su nivel.
“Me gusto mucho estudiar ahí, es una experiencia que tienes que vivir porque te ayuda a abrirte el panorama, conocer diferentes culturas y hacer amigos no solo de Estados Unidos sino de otras partes del mundo como Colombia Brasil, Argentina, Costa Rica (…) esta universidad es totalmente diferente a lo que conocemos”.
El viaje que duró aproximadamente un semestre, les cambió a ambas la perspectiva que tenían acerca de su futuro profesional, ya que entre sus planes están considerando regresar a Estados Unidos para seguirse preparando o incluso trabajar en este país.
Por ello, Fernanda y Sarahí coinciden en que los estudiantes que tengan posibilidades de realizar un intercambio o prácticas profesionales en el extranjero deben aprovechar dicha oportunidad.
“La Universidad Madero ayuda mucho a que te vayas de intercambio tienen muchos convenios y son muy accesibles, yo empecé mi trámite con un semestre de anticipación y sólo me pidieron presentar algunos documentos. La verdad no es difícil”, destaca Fernanda.
Mientras Sarahí finaliza: “creo que todos deberían vivir la experiencia de irse a otro país, pues no solo conoces muchas personas y culturas, sino también aprendes a conocerte a ti mismo en otros ámbitos”.

Regarding his experience as a practitioner, the student says he was in the departments of Marketing and International Exchanges of the university.
«In the marketing department made video, taking photos, interviewing people and supported in managing social networks. In the area of International Exchanges basically the task was to publicize the programs and get students to become interested in making academic trips «.
Meanwhile, Fernanda Romero García who is now in the sixth semester of the Bachelor, reports that three subjects were those taken in Martin Methodist College: Performance, Business and Marketing Plan; and two English classes to improve their level.
«I really liked studying there, it’s an experience you have to live because it helps you open up the landscape, experience different cultures and make friends not only US but elsewhere as Colombia Brazil, Argentina, Costa Rica (…) this university is totally different from what we know. »
The trip lasted about a half, both changed their perspective they had about their professional future, and that its plans are considering returning to the US to prepare himself or even work in this country.
Therefore, Fernanda and Sarahí agree that students with opportunities to exchange or internship abroad should seize the opportunity.
