The Municipal Government of Puebla, through the Municipal Institute of Art and Culture (IMACP) presented at a press conference the details of exposure Logical Nonsense Theatre Ideas of artist Aitor Lajarin.
Aitor Lajarin is an artist born in Vitoria, Basque Country, Spain, currently lives and works in Los Angeles, California. He began his artistic career with painting medium in which continues to work and from which it was extending its interest to other practices such as installation, animation or video. His work has been shown in different institutions like the Museum of Contemporary Art Centre Artium, Mitxelena Kultur Gunea, The House On, ABC Museum, CAB Burgos in Spain, Riverside Art Museum, Torrance Art Museum, Santa Monica Art Museum in Los Angeles Metropolitan Art Museum in New York or Avoa Ars Museum in Turku Finland among some others.
He has been awarded medals in both prizes major emerging art of Spain, Generations Cajamadrid and ABC Award in 2010. In 2008 thanks to a grant from the Center Museum Artium moved to Southern California where currently pursuing graduate studies at the University of California at San Diego.
Logical Nonsense Theatre Ideas is an exhibition of a video, a mural installation and a series of paintings and drawings on paper. The centerpiece is the movie «The Pond» which is in its final stages of post-production. «The Pond» shows us a synthesis, a diagram of human life as an incongruous and surreal theater, a maze of representations, values and behaviors of symbolic nature.
This exhibition will be held at the Art Gallery of IMACP (Calle 3 north No.3 Historical Center, Puebla) whose opening will be on Friday February 13 at about 19:00 hrs. Prior to the opening Aitor Lajarin presents at about 17:00 hrs. in which talk about their work and experiences in Europe and North America over 10 years. Since these personal and specific experiences addressed broader issues that deal with both art practice today as the possibilities that art offers us to position ourselves as active participants in our contemporary world.
