Con el propósito de mostrar la riqueza cultural y darle una dimensión social a la preservación del patrimonio intangible de Puebla, el Instituto Municipal de Arte y Cultura de Puebla (IMACP) llevará a cabo el Primer Festival de Huehues del 4 al 11 de febrero, con la participación de 16 cuadrillas, una de éstas perteneciente a Tlaxcala, Estado Invitado, y otra al estado de Morelos.
El programa del festival se integra con exposiciones, pasarelas, conferencias sobre el significado y razón de ser de la danza tradicional, de sus vestuarios y música, danzas de algunos barrios de Puebla, Tlaxcala y Morelos, en las que participarán cuadrillas de mujeres y niños.
La vinculación de públicos, investigadores e instituciones, son tema preponderante en la realización de este festival, por lo que se buscó la colaboración conjunta de la Asociación Angelopolitana de Huehues A.C., el Consejo Estatal para la Cultura y las Artes de Puebla, el Consejo de la Crónica, el Instituto Tlaxcalteca de Cultura y Culturas Populares de Morelos, detalló en entrevista Rafael Navarro Guerrero, subdirector de Promoción Cultural y Patrimonial del IMACP.
El promotor cultural indicó que se ha trabajado de manera exhaustiva con los directores de las diferentes cuadrillas, con el objetivo de centrarse en la tradición y que los más de 700 danzantes que participarán cuenten con el apoyo de la dependencia.
Hay mucho que mostrar al público, mucho que se desconoce de esta tradición, explicó Rafael Navarro Guerrero, los huehues de Puebla usan máscaras y vestidos, en su mayoría de hombres de edad avanzada, salen a las calles a danzar con sus vistosas y elaboradas vestimentas, que son un homenaje a aquellos huehues (que en náhuatl significa anciano), quienes en esta festividad son honrados por su sabiduría, además del huehue, aparecen El Diablo y la Maringuilla.
De acuerdo con especialistas, en la ciudad de Puebla, los huehues comenzaron a ser representados por habitantes del Barrio del Alto -el más antiguo de la capital- con el paso de los años la costumbre fue imitada por Xanenetla, Xonaca y diferentes barrios de la ciudad. Conforme a la tradición católica, el baile de los huehues, representa la persecución de Cristo y la despedida del mundo carnal.
“Aquí buscamos mostrar esta riqueza y darle una dimensión regional, para que la ciudadanía vea que este tesoro que tenemos los mexicanos a veces no es propio de cada ciudad, sino un proceso cultural más amplio”, refirió Rafael Navarro Guerrero.
Entendemos que este tema de la realización del carnaval no es exclusivo de Puebla, aquí se expresa en forma de huehue, pero también hay en otros estados diferentes expresiones y buscamos también que a través de este festival se muestre esto a la ciudadanía, indicó el subdirector de Promoción Cultural y Patrimonial del IMACP.
El Festival de Huehues Puebla 2015 se llevará a cabo en tres sedes de la ciudad poblana: Teatro Principal, Teatro de Latinoamérica y la Plazuela de los Sapos, que en fines de semana se convierte en un espacio muy visitado.
Del Paseo Bravo al Zócalo de Puebla se realizará un desfile en el que participarán alrededor de 700 huehues de las 15 cuadrillas pertenecientes a la Unidad Habitacional la Rivera Anaya, colonia Luz del Alba, Barrio del Alto, colonia Miguel Hidalgo, Barrio de Xonaca, colonia Reforma Sur la Libertad, colonia Lomas 5 de Mayo y Barrio de Xanetetla, así como a las Juntas Auxiliares San Felipe Hueyotlipan, San Jerónimo Caleras, San Pablo Xochimehuacán y San Miguel Canoa.
“En este primer año ya con carácter de festival y con la administración de Anel Nochebuena, queremos dejar bien asentada la semilla de este festival y para el año que viene con la suma de instituciones podamos diversificar la variedad de actividades que se tengan”, concluyó Rafael Navarro Guerrero.
El Festival de los Huehues iniciará con una pasarela de trajes típicos en el Teatro Pincipal (6 oriente y 6 norte, Centro Histórico) el miércoles 4 de febrero de 17:00 a 19:00 horas.
