Mayor Tony Gali reiterated that work on the preservation of historical monuments, with the aim of preserving the most representative sites that are part of the history of the city.
During the presentation of the restoration of the gates of the Cathedral, the Mayor said that it will continue these actions during 2015, which rescuing the northern districts of the municipality adds.
He said that thanks to the collaboration of the three branches of government can implement strategies and execute high-impact works for the benefit of citizens.
Moses Roses Silva, Director General of the National Fund for Culture and the Arts (Fonca) held that the Municipal Government has participated in the restoration of the most important historical monument that has Puebla, as is its cathedral.
In this regard, he stressed that it is essential that the heritage cities implement schemes to preserve landmarks and iconic sites.
For his part, Archbishop of Puebla, Víctor Sánchez, thanked the support of the federation, the state and the municipality to perform this work that contributes to the beautification of the Cathedral.
Sergio Vergara, head of the Management of the Historic Center, reported that 200 years had not made any intervention at the gates of the Cathedral. Therefore, he stressed the will of the mayor to allocate part of the resources of Fonca the most representative for the poblano enclosure.
The event was attended by Nuria Sanz, Director and UNESCO representative in Mexico; Roberto Trauwitz, Secretary of Tourism in the State; Mauricio Trejo, ANCMPM President and Mayor of San Miguel de Allende; Antonio Cabrera, Director General of the National Association of Mexican World Heritage Cities; Mario Riestra, City Clerk; Francisco Vázquez, Rector of the Cathedral; Hugo Corona, President of the Cathedral Chapter; Angel and aldermen Trauwitz, Myriam Arabian and Mary Esther Gamez.
