In the framework of the XVIII National Cultural Espartaqueada organized by the Movement Antorchista also conducted the pictorial exhibition «Proud of my roots,» the painter Martin Freddy Gutiérrez Sanjuan, a disciple of renowned painter Vázquez Ubaldo Somera, exhibition held in the Clara auditorium Córdova Morán.
Freddy Martin Gutierrez graduated from the Technological Institute of Oaxaca Tecomatlán, began his career at age 22 and takes many pictures with different techniques, from pencil to acrylic.
«What I try to portray in my work is the flora and fauna of Mexico, traditions, because unfortunately our culture and our roots have been lost, new generations are no longer interested in art and prefer to go in other directions which often are not good, «he said.
Gutiérrez Sanjuan has competed at state and national levels. He participated in the «Flora and fauna of the Mixteca» contest in Huajuapan de León, Oaxaca, where he won first place among 20 contestants, and other contests in which he has also gone awarded prizes.
«It is an honor for me to show what I do in these events, because the Antorchista Movement that is what makes art for the people and not just focus on one thing, but encourages all kinds of art,» he concluded.
